LinkedInAs President and Partner of Smith Publicity, Marissa Eigenbrood helps shape the agency’s strategic direction while leading its continued evolution at the intersection of nonfiction publishing, thought leadership, and media. She partners with authors, executives, academics, entrepreneurs, keynote speakers, and industry experts to transform books into platforms that create lasting visibility, credibility, and opportunity.
Marissa began her career at Smith Publicity shortly after graduating from Marist College and has grown through nearly every facet of the business, from leading publicity campaigns to business development and executive leadership. That experience gives her a uniquely holistic perspective on how authors can leverage books as catalysts for larger conversations, stronger brands, and long-term professional influence.
Throughout her career, Marissa has helped redefine Smith Publicity’s approach to nonfiction publicity, championing strategies that look beyond traditional book launches to the broader ecosystems that support an author’s success. Her work focuses on connecting media relations with thought leadership, speaking, digital presence, strategic partnerships, and long-term platform development, ensuring every campaign contributes to something far greater than a publication date.
Widely recognized for her strategic thinking and educational content on LinkedIn, Marissa is a trusted voice on the future of book publicity, author branding, and thought leadership. She is passionate about helping authors and experts identify what they want to become known for, and then building integrated visibility strategies that position their ideas for enduring relevance and impact.
A natural connector and collaborative leader, Marissa enjoys bringing together authors, industry partners, and media to create opportunities that continue long after a campaign ends. She believes the most successful nonfiction books don’t simply launch—they become the foundation for bigger conversations, stronger platforms, and lasting influence.
Marissa lives in New Jersey with her husband, two young children, and cats. She is a diehard Philadelphia sports fan (Go Birds!) and a lover of all things Bravo, and her favorite books are currently those she reads to her children before bed.
